Talan loves his new bike! All he wants to do is go for "bike rides". "Can we? Can we?" he says throughout the day. We rode at Missy's house this afternoon and we took the bike to the Al-Anon meeting tonight where he rode it around the parking lot. Joe bought Talan the bike two days ago and he has already logged miles! Sunday afternoon we took a "bike ride" to Aunt B's house which is .4 miles away and yet it took us 40 minutes! :) LOL Needless to say we stopped a lot to visit with dogs and cats and anything else that caught our eye. It is so wonderful to see my little guy so happy. Joe also put new training wheels back on Mason's bike as he hasn't touched it since the training wheels came off. Unfortunately, Mason claims he doesn't like the color of his bike and instead wants to ride Talan's. Does this sound familiar to anyone? :)
We had an explosive 4th of July. Literally. Joe picked up $112 dollars worth of fireworks. Mason went nuts throwing items in our shopping basket and Joe just decided to go for it. The kids were delighted. There were smoke bombs, sparklers, grenades and rockets. After we were done, our neighbors lit off their fireworks which were superiour to ours as they had purchased them from the Indian Reservation (were it is legal to sell fireworks that launch far into the sky). The video is of the boys enjoying a smoke bomb. Joe, Matt and Keira watched as Barclay lit things up for the boys. I'll also add that the next morning most of the debris had been swept up in our neighborhood and I think, or I'd like to believe, it is do to my property managing talents. Never have the neighbors previously cleaned up their respective messes so maybe I've put the fear of God in them. LOL
Joe is off to Denver tomorrow and then back Monday. We leave for our trip Tuesday. We will be gone almost a month so I am excited to have our big "vacation" start. :) Yippee!!!!
