We went last year and this year it was exactly the same. The kids LOVED the reptile exhibit. I really fell in love with the baby giant tortoise. He was so cute. They live to beover a hundred years so that is just too big of a commitment for me. Mason really wanted to hold the baby corn snake but we were told he was too little to be held. The tarantula was a huge hit with a lot of kids but thankfully my boys did not want to hold it.
Mason did the jumpy castle, the dunk tank, and tried 3 times (15 balls worth) unsuccessfully to win a goldfish. God was answering my prayers not his. He was so sad that he didn't get a ball in the bowl to win a goldfish that I almost felt selfish (but not really). I had visions of flushing the little guy down the toilet within the week as we are not good fish owners (we have tried goldfish in the past and all that happened is I kept running up to PetCo to replace the poor critter). The only thing Talan got interested in, besides the reptiles, were some abandoned basketballs and the fire truck.
The boys were both so tired that we left after an hour. They were both asleep before we got home. I had taken them to the gym prior to the fair so it was a longish outing. I ran 3.1 miles in 32:28 which isn't a great time but it felt great workout. :)
Talan is still napping. Mason is watching TV. I am finally getting caught up on a months worth of blogs as well as uploading and organizing photos on my new laptop. It feels great to get this done especially since Joe is on the road again for 2 weeks and always appreciates getting a glimpse into our lives back here in Idaho.
